Day 16: Someone or something you definitely could live without
http://hope.gr/30-days-of-truth/
I could definitely live without winter. Cold in any form really. I hate being cold, its like one of the worst feelings ever. Personally, if I believed in hell I would subscribe to the icy frozen version, as opposed to the typical hot version. I hate living in Michigan. I hate the winter. I hate going outside and having my breathe get caught in my throat and literally taken away by the cold. I hate feeling that pain that goes straight through to your bones when the temperature drops and the wind picks up. I hate it. I also hate cold showers, and swimming in cold water (although I do love being in warm water), I just hate to be cold. I wish we didnt have to leave Arizona, Id take 115 degree heat over this shit any day.

Ah, I hate the heat. Then again, I’ve never lived in a mind-numbingly cold place, and most of my hatred of heat has to do with humidity (which, if I’m not mistaken, is not really a problem in Arizona?). Where I’m from, there are sweltering humid summers. When I go outside during those times, it feels as if the air is so thick that it’s hard to breathe. Sometimes it feels as if the air is full of liquid.
I love hot weather. Im naturally a cold person so that probably makes it worse, but still, hate it. Yeah, Arizonas pretty dry, that was nice. Summers here are really humid too. While we were living in AZ, we came to Michigan to visit in the summer. When we left AZ it was about 110 degrees, we got here and it was only maybe 80, but as soon as we stepped off the plane it was hard to breathe, and you could smell the water in the air. Humidity definitely makes a big difference.
i sympathize with you on this, i am not one to like cold winters either, i prefer mild or warm weather and loads of sunshine. x
If I could, Id want to live somewhere that was always between 80-100 degrees, and yes, lots of sunshine
I believe that the sun-light has a healing effect on one’s overall health (physical &mental), i’ve noticed how my mood improves greatly in sunny/warmer weather. Studies have been carried out where a connection has been found between the weather (and hours of daylight) & depression. I recall that Finland has a high rate of suicide, for instance, which doesnt suprise me considering the weather and long, endless winter nights there.
Ive read the same things. I did get sick a lot less often when we lived in Arizona, but unfortunately there isnt much sun here, at least not during the winter
i know what you mean, sometimes days here seem to merge & to be one single long day in the absence of sunlight. I come from a warm, sunny country and this weather “clash” was hard to adjust to years ago when i first moved here (UK). Maybe you could try focusing on colour (flowers and so on) to balance out the influence of the weather on you. It works for me. x
Thanks for the advice
I live in Pennsylvania. I know Michigan is worse, but I feel your pain. I hate 10 feet of snow. I hate sub zero days. I hate hard, cold winds. I hate short summers. But, Pittsburgh has a disadvantage over Michigan. Everyone thought Seattle was the gloomiest place in the US. It’s not. Pittsburgh is, having the most cloudy days in a year. Ugh.
That sucks. Its bad enough having to deal with the shitty weather, but at least our summers a fairly sunny.
