30 Days of Truth: Day 17

Day 17: A book youve read that changed your views on something

http://hope.gr/30-days-of-truth/

I honestly cant think of a time that this has ever happened.  I like to read, I dont do it as much as Id like to anymore (aside from other peoples blogs), because I dont have enough time, but I used to read all the time.  If something interested me, Id read about it.  Ive often said that I could never work in a book store because if I did, I would always end up spending me entire check every week on books.  I hate going in book stores because I know I dont have the money to buy anything and I always see about 50 thousand books Id like to buy (thats what I love about the library).

Despite all of that reading, I do not think Ive ever read a book that changed my views on something.  Ive read plenty of books that have helped to expand my knowledge on a subject, and thereby helped to expand my views on a subject, but not actually change them.  Hmm, I can give an example of that.  I just read The Brain that Changes Itself, by Norman Doidge (which I do recommend).  This book gave me a lot of insight into the scientific and biological reasons behind a lot of things that I had a basic understanding of, but spent a great deal of time pondering the whys behind them.  Things like that have happened  a lot, but I honestly can not think of any book that has actually changed my views.  I think my beliefs are pretty solid, and I dont come to them without research and an understanding of why it is that I believe something, maybe thats why, or maybe Im just stubborn, who knows?
